So what ever happened to our water bill?
A few months ago I put a full bottle of water in out toilet reservoir in hopes of lowering our water bill. The bottle is still there, saving us around 16.9 fluid ounces each time we flush. It’s not much, but it’s something. Over the course of three months it should show on our bill. That is, if our bill ever came. We’re still waiting.
I suppose the next step to take is to call the solar panel guy (story for later) and get some compact flourescent bulbs. According to Energy Star’s calculator we can save a significant amount of money by switching our bulbs. I don’t think that the savings would be nearly as much if not for the recent rate hikes in CT (within a year our bills will be 50% higher than they were a year ago). I’m pretty sure this will bring our kWH price from around 12 cents to around 18 cents. And that sucks.
For those of you who are curious, we are going with CitizenRe for the solar panels. We’re renting them, not paying for them. It’s confusing to explain, but if you go to the site and sign up, mentiont hat I referred you.
