Here’s an updated map with some information about each of the paces we’ve seen. We saw many this past weekend, so it’s nearly doubled. Enjoy.

- The Jay Condo - The Jay Condo was very nice, but for the prices, the apartments were small. The amenities looked wonderful, but in the end, we wanted more space than was available. The neighborhood is wonderful, DUMBO can’t be beat, but with three dogs it just wasn’t worth the price.
- map
- Oro - The Oro condo suffered the same fate as the Jay Condo. The apartments were small, but the added bonus of the neighborhood is gone. The view was amazing, but we could not exist in a 700 square foot apartment. The neighborhood isn’t great and it seems like a gamble that it might or might not get any better.
- map
- 475 Sterling - The building looked nice, but we weren’t thrilled with the neighborhood. The apartments were average, but this time with no view. The closest access road is Atlantic Ave, and the eventual building that is going to on is a turn off.
- map
- The Vanguard 6 - I saw this building on my own, and there were positives and negatives. The apartments seemed small for their square footage and some of the views were nice, but the BQE is so close to the building and it seemed to be selling slow. Also, the second bedroom isn’t an actual bedroom, as it had no closet. The dog park next door seemed nice though.

- Lofts on Lex - The winner amongst the bunch. We have an offer on one of the duplexes at the moment.
- map
- Forte Condo - This place creeped me out a little bit. I’m not a fan of apartments that seem like hotels. With the extravagant lobby that is meant to look like a theatre lobby, it was a bit much for me. The immediate neighborhood might have a plus with BAM nearby, but it’s also got busy streets. Also, they were touting the new basketball arena as a positive.
- map
- Verdi on Adelphi - This building was called the ugliest of all the new condos to go up in the area. It’s got a multi-colored, multi-tiled facade that sticks out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood. It’s got a great view of the BQE from the fifth floor and some kind of view of Manhattan on a nice day. Only one of the models (fifth floor) have washer/dryer hookups from the conversation we had with the broker.
- map
- One Hunter’s Point - They were shining a turd with this one. the neighborhood is far from ideal, they are building on an extremely busy street. We weren’t allowed to see any units and could only talk to the brokers in their sales office. We werent actually sure where the buildings were until afterwards because they didn’t show up. Also, their advertising of “Live like a star. Commute like a rocket. The paparazzi won’t find you.” was a bit much to take.
- map
- 189 Bridge - Too much like a hotel for me. A walk to DUMBO, with nothing in the immediate area that was remarkable in any way. The floor plans were nice, but there was something that didn’t seem right with this one.
- map
- 560 7th Avenue - We didn’t even look at this one, due to the proximity to the Greenwood Cemetery.
- map
- 438 Washington - My quote was “never has so much space felt so small. Also, open backed spiral stairs that were steep. That spells “dead dog” to me.
- map
- 38 Russell - This was great, but in the end, we wound up going with a different apartment. This was the other choice.
- map
- 965 Kent - Amber said that this one reminded her of a Mexican barrio. That’s not a positive thing. We also found an AWESOME YouTube video that does very little to sell you on the apartment.
- map
- The Vue - While the website said that apartments on the lower levels were available, they weren’t and we were priced out of the building right away.
