Do you download songs from Daytrotter? It’s a studio in Rock Island, Ill. that has bands stop by to play a few songs acoustic. They record them and then give them away for free. I’ve managed to find some really choice stuff on there.
The links don’t go directly to files, but pages the files can be found on. The studio asks not to link to the files directly, so I abide.
Did I miss some good ones? Let me know.
So Live Earth came and went. The New York and DC Lineups were boring, but the London lineup, jesus christ, was awesome. And on top of putting together at least one awesome concert from my point of view, they realized that these things are going to be all over the web once the concert was over. So what did they do? Put every friggin song and video online and let anyone who wanted to embed it.
Metallica had an interesting set, three songs from the Black Album. Sad but True, Nothing Else Matters and Sandman.

So I broke down and got an iPhone. (after my wife asked me why I hadn’t yet gotten one) I’m posting this now from the phone and it’s pretty neato. All the wiz bang is there, and I’m able to type with two thumbs slowly. I suppose that of’s not as hard to learn to type like this when you never used a smartphone keyboard.
The service has been fine so far, but I’ve had it for less than a few hours now so we’ll see.
Amber and I decided to go to the mall on Memorial Day because we needed dog food, we wanted some board games and I wanted to go out for the afternoon. We decided on the mall in Milford because it’s nicer than the one in town and there’s a Target in the mall. So off we went to the mall to walk around and eventually get dog food. We always walk around Target for some reason, maybe it’s to satisfy a leftover need of mine from my mallrat days. We walk through electronics and I’ll make a joke about getting a Wii, but they never have any. She makes her way over to the magazines and I check out new DVDs, music and books (I never buy any). Each time we walk buy, theres a big empty bottom shelf under the Wii games. This is where they would keep the Wii systems if they could keep any in stock. This time around we walked by the video game section and there was a shelf full of Wiis.
I said “Oh my God. They have Wiis.”
“So get one.”
And so I did. I had to wait a few minutes for a Target employee to open up the glass case, but it was ours.
I spent the rest of the afternoon checking 4 video game stores and a Best Buy for “Wii Play” which comes with another controller for Amber and we were in business. We spent last night playing Wii Sports and Wii Play and it was GREAT.
