At 2:49 local time, my laptop left Anchorage Alaska.
Could it be here tomorrow?
They estimate delivery October 2nd, but that’s way more than the 2-3 day shipping that was promised.

My new Mac Book Pro shipped from Shanghai China and it’s on it’s way! At the latest it will be here by my birthday, but signs (and my conversation with Apple Support) point to it being here earlier than that.
The other cool thing was when I called and asked about if I could bump the shipping up to overnight, the woman on the phone said that the best they could do was 2-day shipping because of the high demand for Mac Book Pros and Mac books they have had to change plants and the American plant no longer produces the custom machines. The American plant produces the vanilla straight off the website configurations and the Chinese plant handles all of the custom orders. She even if Steve Jobs wanted a similar Mac Book Pro to mine, he’d have to wait 2 days as well. The only difference would be that he could use a lear jet to go get it.
Then she refunded me the price of shipping ($18) and even rounded it up to $20. I didn’t want to tell her that I wasn’t disappointed but just curious.
The first is a Mac Book Pro with a Core 2 Duo processor. That’s #1 with a bullet.
The next idea hasn’t actually happened yet.

I own an Apple iPod HiFi. We needed something to go in the breakfast nook that the iPod could hook up to that didn’t look like a piece of crap and sounded pretty decent. The HiFi won out.
With the addition of their new “iTV” device that’s coming out in January, I want something liek that for audio that’s not the Airport Express with AirTunes. AirTunes is nice and all, but if I’m just going to hook up the Airport Express to the HiFi, why can’t I get a wifi enabled iPod HiFi?
I want a iPod HiFi that is wifi enabled so I can just send music right to it from iTunes.
Additional features: Next, Last and Play on the Apple Remote can control iTunes.
Get on it Steve Jobs and company!

So I dropped my 60GB iPod Photo recently. I got the “sad iPod” face.
This basically meant: you be screwed.
So I grabbed my iPod, made an appointment at a Genius Bar at an Apple store and headed towards Danbury.
No questions asked, they ran a few diagnostics on my iPod (same things I did) and came to the conclusion, which was “yeah, this thing’s dead.”
I signed a piece of paper saying I exchanged iPods and they gave me aq new 60GB iPod photo! Just like that I’m back in business.
Now Amber is jealous because my iPod is shinier than her nano is. I still think that the nano is cooler, but that’s just me.
Now I feel that I’ve got this unscratched iPod I should be extra nice to it. I’ve got a handmade felt Domo Kun cover made for me by the awesome Kim Pye (she makes some fun stuff) and it does most of the job, but is hard to stuff in my pockets in a rush. Maybe I’ll get one of those hard clear plastic cases so people can see the non-scratchyness of my iPod.
I’ve still got to name it to, but that’s a post for another time.
