August 29th, on the corner of Old Town Road and Sylvan Ave on the Trumbull / Bridgeport line. Please someone claim that this dog is yours.

So on our way home from the dog park we saw a little beagle on the side of the road. He was sniffing around in a dangerous area for dogs to be loose in. Since Amber and I are dog lovers, and we would hate the idea of one of our two kids going missing, we went to go help. Amber put the dogs in our house and grabbed a leash to help bring this guy somewhere safe.

He was good on a leash and had marks on his neck showing that he recently was wearing a leash. We called everyone we could think of that could help us, but we wound up taking him to the Trumbull Animal Control Shelter. They don’t kill dogs unless they’re hostile (which he’s not), if they bite (which he probably will not) or if they’re full (they were not). They keep him for nine days for someone to claim him. If not, then he goes up for adoption. Which I might have to fight Amber on, as he got into a little tiff with Leeloo. Anyway, here’s some photos of the cute guy.

Less info on the Craigslist posting. Found a dog on Bridgeport/Trumbull border. Maybe this will help bump it up on Google. Who knows. I’ll keep you updated.

There’s no actual Goatse contained in the link. I promise.

Someone took photos of people (Ron Jeremy is in there) and their reactions to seeing Goatse for the first time. This is an AWESOME set of photos, because looking at it reminds me of what freshman year of college was like.

I don’t think that freshman today will have the same experiences. Memes are different lately. With us, it was Goatse, Tub Girl and the guy that could put two Duracell AA batteries down his… um… let’s use the phrase “pee pee hole”.

There was no YouTube, no Flickr. Just about no one had websites or blogs (I started in 2000 on DiaryLand - platmosis.diaryland.com but nothing is there today, wish I still had all my old posts), so we had to do some real searching on the internet to keep ourselves busy. There was Napster though, so we all had healthy music libraries.

Oh well. Here’s the link…

So I’ve been waiting for a while to post about this. Actually, I didn’t want to mention anything before I knew for sure that it was a sure thing. I’m leaving the world of freelancing audio engineers and becoming one of those guys who works five days a week and gets health insurance and a retirement plan.

It’s pretty exciting, I’m going to be essentially a startup within a newspaper. They have no podcasts at the moment, no studio, no microphones, no nothing. This is where I come in. My official title is going to be “podcast producer”, though I’ll tell people “online media producer” to save me the conversation I had with my mother twice about what a podcast is.

So Starting September 10th, I stop freelancing and start with my “real job”. No, I’m not going to tell you what Manhattan based newspaper it’s for, cause I don’t do that.
