So in the summer time, the (finished) attic was absolutely dreadful at times. It was very hot, pretty much all of the time. We had to put two air conditioners in the attic just to keep it cool. So I had a fear that if the attic wasn’t getting ventilated and the winter was going to be really cold.

So it’s getting close to the winter and we’re dealing with the same issues we were dealing with in the summertime. At the moment it’s 84 degrees up here and the crawl spaces are particulary warm, so that makes me wonder what the hell is going on up here. I guess since the air isn’t moving around, it just sits up here. We’ve got hot lights up here too. We bought a lamp and a hanging light to have the ability to have light in the attic without essentially making the place an oven.

We have this hot lights all over the house, and the plan is to replace them because they’re not electrically efficient and put out lots of heat. We replaced one already with a ceiling fan that helped the living room become a rom that didn’t always need an air conditioner. There are still fixtures liek this in the bedroom, office and two in the attic. The ceiling is sloped and I have no idea what we can put up here that won’t hang down too low.
