I did not expect my laptop this morning when I went to sleep and it was in Anchorage Alaksa. However, I woke up this morning to see that the laptop was one town away waiting in the FedEx in Stratford, CT.
In a word, it is AWESOME.
I'm Rob Blatt. For the most part I wrote about my dogs, music and technology. I swear quite a bit, so this blog isn't for people who can't handle that. I encourage you to subscribe to the RSS feed. All the random images to the right are courtesy of my amazing wife.

At 2:49 local time, my laptop left Anchorage Alaska.
Could it be here tomorrow?
They estimate delivery October 2nd, but that’s way more than the 2-3 day shipping that was promised.
My new Mac Book Pro shipped from Shanghai China and it’s on it’s way! At the latest it will be here by my birthday, but signs (and my conversation with Apple Support) point to it being here earlier than that.
The other cool thing was when I called and asked about if I could bump the shipping up to overnight, the woman on the phone said that the best they could do was 2-day shipping because of the high demand for Mac Book Pros and Mac books they have had to change plants and the American plant no longer produces the custom machines. The American plant produces the vanilla straight off the website configurations and the Chinese plant handles all of the custom orders. She even if Steve Jobs wanted a similar Mac Book Pro to mine, he’d have to wait 2 days as well. The only difference would be that he could use a lear jet to go get it.
Then she refunded me the price of shipping ($18) and even rounded it up to $20. I didn’t want to tell her that I wasn’t disappointed but just curious.
