I was playing a show in the UMass Lowell Fox Common with Blatt is the New Black and on the first chord of the first song all but one of my guitar strings broke. Julius handed me his guitar as he went to fix mine. We were playing a song that was completely foreign to me. The words went:

“I can’t believe that you can’t remember,
the last time we stood here together”

And the chords I were playing was A B G D and it seemed wrong to me. I woke up and realized I should have been playing A E F# D. How bizzare.

We also had a third guitarist in the band and the stage had not yet been built in the Common, yet there was a pro lighting system set up. Very weird.

So the documentary I’m currently working on (A biographical piece on Andy Warhol for PBS) just got picked up for a soundtrack. I’m pretty happy about that, as it’s another notch on the belt.

This will be my third CD through this studio, the other two being Tree of Patience by Omar Faruk Tekbilek and The Soundtrack to the War that Made America. Almost too many DVDs have been released for me to remember all of them, but the CDs are the things I’m most proud of. Add that to CDs by John Charles, In the Face and Failed Silence and I’d say I’ve done pretty well for my first two years as a professional.

Holy crap. I never knew Amber and I had that much stuff in our apartment and at her grandmother’s house. To think I haven’t even emptied my parents’ house of my stuff yet either. Every day since June 3rd we’ve moved at least one mini-van load from the old apartment or her grandmother’s house, and it just seems to pile up because we can’t put it away fast enough. Yikes.

I’m moving Saturday, so if I’m not online… that’s why.

Call my cell phone.
